Question by Sam: Mac Book Pro or iMac+iPad?
So i’m heading off to college soon and I’m wondering whats the best thing to do. Should I just deal with the expensiveness of the MBP or the reliability of the iMac. Id only use the ipad for here and there things, maybe download a couple of text books but by no means am I going to be an english major (pre-pharmacy actually). So what would be my best choice?

My suggestion is to get the iMac+iPad. You can bring the iPad everywhere, courses, field trips, and other places. Same as the MBP, but its bigger. Leave the iMac in your dorm, and use the iPad for outside learning.

If you are spending your money get either the mac book pro or imac desktop?. See what either can do for you based on what you know. Adding the ipad could be purchasing a unit with already the same types of things that can be done on a pro or imac. For the time being, though everyone agrees iPad is somewhat of a wunderkind. However, the ipad for now cannot mulit-task. The ipad is set up best for books, this is its niche among mac products. It will become a more complete product in its second iteration probably adding increased connectivity like a usb port to name a few. The Mac Pro can do the most which future proofs you since college is in your future. I would choose the Mac Book Pro, then get the second generation ipad.
